Hello Spartans!
We at the Associated Students of Michigan State University (ASMSU) and the Council of Graduate Students (COGS) have always put our commitment to serving the student body front and center. We continuously strive to enhance the educational experience and quality of life of all our students and their families at Michigan State University. This is accomplished, in part, by providing programs and services that address and focus on the academic and social challenges that students face every day. These challenges can have a dramatic effect on a student’s life and well-being.
To address some of these concerns, we have come together to create a comprehensive and cost-effective legal service program that is available to all eligible undergraduate and graduate/professional students. This program is called Student Legal Services which provides students with FREE legal assistance and representation through a contract with the law firm of Jeffries and Associates, PLLC.
Jeffries and Associates, PLLC has over 50 years of combined legal experience working at Student Legal Services. As one of our most utilized services, they assist thousands of students each year with their legal problems. The attorneys and staff at Jeffries and Associates, PLLC possess the necessary legal skills and competency to successfully represent students. They are highly aware of the negative consequences certain legal decisions can have on future career and educational pursuits and have developed specific outcomes and resolutions designed to mitigate them.
We strongly encourage students to make full use of Student Legal Services, as well as any of our other programs and services. We further ask that you share this information and promote this service with your fellow students. Whether it is a criminal charge, landlord/tenant dispute, or a contract review, students can have peace of mind knowing that they have an experienced staff at Student Legal Services representing them at no cost!
